VeilPrivacy Policy
1. Information we collect
None. Veil has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not collect your name, email, device identifiers, location, usage data, photos, or videos.
2. Your photos and videos
Your photos and videos are encrypted on your device using AES-256, with a key derived from your password, before they are ever stored or synced. We operate no servers that hold your content.
3. iCloud Sync
Veil stores your already-encrypted data in your own private Apple iCloud (CloudKit) account, so you can restore it after reinstalling or on a new device. It remains end-to-end encrypted with your key — the key never leaves your device, so Apple cannot read it, and neither can we. This feature uses Apple iCloud and is additionally subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Camera (Intruder capture)
If you enable the intruder feature, the front camera captures a photo only when an incorrect passcode is entered. These images are encrypted and stored locally on your device. They are never transmitted anywhere.
5. Face ID / Touch ID
Biometric authentication is handled entirely by iOS. Veil never receives, sees, or stores your biometric data.
6. Your password
There is no password recovery. We never see your password. If you forget it, your encrypted data cannot be recovered — by design. This is what makes it truly private.
7. Data sharing
We share nothing, because we collect nothing. No data is sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties.
8. Children's privacy
Veil does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
9. Security
Veil uses AES-256-GCM encryption. Your encryption key is derived from your password using PBKDF2 (200,000 iterations) and protected by the device Secure Enclave / Keychain. The key never leaves your device.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.

2. 你的照片与视频

4. 摄像头（闯入者抓拍）
如果你开启闯入者功能，前置摄像头仅在输入错误密码时抓拍一张照片。这些图像在你的设备上加密存储，绝不会传输到任何地方。
5. Face ID / Touch ID
生物识别完全由 iOS 处理。Veil 永远不会接收、看到或存储你的生物特征数据。
6. 你的密码
密码无法找回。我们永远看不到你的密码。如果你忘记了，加密数据将无法恢复——这是设计使然，也正是它真正私密的原因。
7. 数据共享
我们不共享任何东西，因为我们不收集任何东西。不会向第三方出售、出租或披露任何数据。
8. 儿童隐私
Veil 不会有意收集任何人的数据，包括 13 岁以下儿童。
9. 安全
